Solstice

oh ode to soulful solstice,

whose sultry, sleek bodice seems to slow down the skills of this novice,

must you be so callus and not allow me to devour the wine embedded in your chalice,

teach me life, teach me sorrow,

teach me the meaning of regret and forget about tomorrow,

why must you weep and look at me like you are happy to see me go,

damn you and the things i allow,

to follow and wallow in your essence while i run out of time unborrowed,

i burrow

and dig my head where i cannot see

where begins I and ends in me,

like an uncared tree,

roots uprooted,

from words disputed,

love leads but live lies lie lonely hearts and emotions protruded,

disciplined sorrow sorely saluted,

while exaggerated elation becomes captured and executed,

binding ties to the world we know severed and booted,

we know no longer about companionship but merely an acquaintanceship,

an understanding that there once was a relationship,

a mere trace of the concept of you and i,

a limb for a limb, a word for a word, an eye for an eye,

your payback pierces politics of the third eye blind,

lets go back, be kind rewind,

teach me to know what it is to know what I'm looking for,

give me the ability to sculpt that one key that curves for your door,

show me to live blissfully or better yet learn to ignore,

pour potential patience on the heat of my core,

feed vital information so i can soak up and store,

vicious, malicious, drastic fiend,

drug lust, no trust, hip hop i fiend,

hip hop you changed but yet you stand so still,

admired by others that want to touch but know that hip hop is now barely tangible,

hip hop should be shared not yearned,

hip hop should be absorbed not delicate and falling apart like paper burned,

hip hop is the culture that the pioneers have promised,

but now its just a standstill beauty,oh hip hop, our solstice.
